Bought this for my office to increase my screen real estate. I wanted to be able to use it through a powered USB hub along with my other USB devices since I swap out laptops often. The first one I bought was a bust– could only get it to work once or twice with my PC laptop, and never on my Macbook. I returned it and chanced it on another one. THe second one works like a charm– works through a powered USB hub without a hitch on both my PC and Mac laptops. Hopefully this one won’t give out like the first one.

I give this three stars because I had one for over a year and one day it just died. It’s so easy to use on a small form factor machine to add a second monitor I immediately bought a new one. Three stars equals I think it should last 3-4 years.

I ordered this to have the ability to have two screens,it works great. My computer did have a problem and the help desk help me set it up. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have two screens at their disposal.
This is example IOGear USB 2.0 External VGA Video Card GUC2015V comment from customer : IOGear USB 2.0 External VGA works as advertised. I installed it on a 3+ year old Dell laptop so I’m now operating with three screens instead of two. The USB External VGA does just what the additional internal video cards did in my desktop. It took about 10-15 minutes to set this one up (I had to move the installation software to a thumb drive and my laptop is a slow boot – I’m guessing most systems will install quicker). In my business I find my biggest computer need is more screen space, and I like a different screen for each main program. This product did what I wanted. I’ll definitely be buying one more and maybe two.
